Seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position developing deep learning-based pediatric brain MRI analysis tools

Project Description: Low field MRI has the potential to transform pediatric public health in lower resource settings, where expensive and high maintenance 1.5 and 3T MRI scanners are prohibitive. The postdoctoral fellow will be in charge of developing deep learning-based image analysis tools specifically tailored for the unique challenges of low-field pediatric MRI data. These will be used to facilitate research into factors that affect children’s brain development, particularly in developing countries.

Location: The CIBORG Laboratory is located at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, one of the premier children’s hospitals in the United States and is part of the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Our laboratory specializes in numerical methods to study brain anatomy and function though MRI. These methods are applied to furthering our understanding of neurological disorders, and normal and abnormal brain development.

Logistics: Position is full time for 2-3 years, starting as soon as possible.

Skills Required: PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computational neuroscience or equivalent, with a focus on the development of deep learning tools for medical image analysis.
