Job Type:
Full Time

Perspectum Diagnostics has been founded by clinicians, scientists, and engineers. We focus on the detection and accurate, quantitative measurement using MRI of the liver, providing quantitative measures of the progression of fatty liver disease and its development into steatohepatitis.  We are working also on paediatric obesity, support for surgical planning, and liver cancer.  From an image analysis standpoint, we have developed methods for image segmentation, machine learning, and quantitative analysis of the liver and biliary tree, as well as measuring fat and iron content in the liver.

We are currently recruiting an additional scientist with expertise in medical image analysis and software programming to join our rapidly growing team (led by Professor Sir Mike Brady FRS FMedSci) and contribute to the future development of this technology.  This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to create and test image analysis solutions for current medical imaging needs. Interaction with physicians, radiologists, radiographers and patients is essential in ensuring that our medical device development is aligned with solving the medical needs of our customers and patients.  Desired skills:

  • Experience in Medical Image Analysis
  • Specific experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, deformable image registration, image segmentation, tissue classification, biophysical modelling, MRI physics
  • Experience of coding in languages used for deployed systems, for example Matlab, Python and C++
  • Strong evidence of research achievement to date
  • Evidence of an interest in the application of physical science research to medical problems
  • Experience in a product development team
