We are looking for proactive, highly motivated self-starters who are not afraid of going outside their comfort zone, can pick up any job, roll up their sleeves to get things done, on time and to a high standard.

You will be highly numerate and have experience of deep learning in medical imaging. You will join our R&D team working on automated analysis of ultrasound images. Our technology uses both deep learning and traditional image analysis techniques and is based in part on research undertaken by the laboratory of Professor Alison Noble at Oxford University. There remains a strong connection with this academic group as well as collaborative hospitals.

You will work under the guidance of a senior software engineer to develop components of our core analysis platform. Your algorithms will be incorporated into products under development and clinical evaluation. The post will appeal to someone looking to contribute to changing the way ultrasound is perceived as a healthcare diagnostic tool, and to seeing their own work embedded in products that aim to have real world impact.

This role will be based in the Intelligent Ultrasound Division office in Milton Park, Didcot which is 14 miles from Oxford, approx. 60 miles from London, and located in one of the fastest growing life sciences clusters region in Europe.

Skills requirement

Experience of designing bespoke deep-learning architectures for image analysis problems.

Experience of deep learning and image analysis software packages: Caffe, TensorFlow, OpenCV

C++, Python

Understanding of the quality aspects of commercial software development, including: software project management and the software lifecycle,software testing strategies, source control

Ideally you will have developed software in a regulatory environment (eg ISO9001, ISO13485) but this is not an absolute requirement

Team player

Attention to detail to ensure prototype software is of a high standard

Fits into a small team: willing to help out where needed

PhD or MSc in computer science or engineering with a modern machine learning in imaging focus.
