Our R&D centre of excellence are looking for a Scientist to join our newly formed Artificial Intelligence Research Team, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a global organisation developing advanced clinical applications to transform patient care.  We strive to create technology that makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives, helping doctors to help restore patients’ health and well-being.


The AI Research Team develops cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for clinical decision support and medical image analysis, used in product development at Canon Medical Systems R&D centres worldwide. You will be responsible for the creation and development of innovative algorithms and solutions to empower advanced industry-leading medical applications.


We are looking for enthusiastic Scientists, who enjoy working as part of a team, and have the drive and ability to learn and develop new skills.  You will have a proven understanding and research record in a relevant area of machine learning, e.g. image or natural language processing, deep learning. An advanced degree qualification (e.g. PhD) is desirable. Depending on experience, you may also be expected to provide scientific guidance to the team and other groups within the company, and supervise doctoral students working within the company.  Experience of Python programming, SkLearn, Keras and Tensorflow, or similar libraries, would be desirable.  Academic publications of research is strongly encouraged.
