Your future area of ​​responsibility:

-Independent research and development on 3D image data analysis and fusion modules, scientific publication of the work package results

-Implementation of the project in a team on the topic of modeling virtual and, if necessary, time-dynamic patient body models with non-linear registration methods, deep learning and visual-haptic virtual reality techniques for quality assurance of the automatically generated structural models

-Participation in third-party funding applications and final reports

-Support in the teaching of Prof. Mastmeyer

The willingness to carry out an intensively supervised cooperative doctoral project with a German university is absolutely desirable. Your profile:

Demonstrable enthusiasm for the interdisciplinary topic. At least a good degree in image informatics from a university / college. Safe mastery of Matlab, MeVisLab / 3D-Slicer and Python. Willingness to familiarize yourself with image data registration methods (atlas-based procedures) in C ++ / CUDA and the ITK / VTK libraries. In-depth specialist knowledge (or willingness to acquire them) in GPU-based registration methods, radiomics (image features / tumor markers) for anatomy and pathology detection and segmentation with deep learning (TensorFlow / PyTorch in Python) and initial teaching experience and the urge to research (first publications ) are welcome.

The position is initially limited to 2.5 years (30 months). It is planned to extend the position after two years with a follow-up application to the DFG.
