Postdoctoral Fellow in Deep Learning & AI-based quantitative MRI for Precision Medicine

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow at the newly established Technion's Computational MRI lab (TCML) at the faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The major focus of the lab is to improve patient care through better characterization of the underlying physiological and structural factors in human diseases by developing novel deep-learning-based methods for MRI acquisition and analysis. We have access to a high-performance computing cluster which allows us to leverage deep-learning technologies at a scale and to a 3T human MRI scanner dedicated to research. Our current efforts are focusing around improving our capacity to quantify physiological properties from DW-MRI using deep-learning approaches with applications in Crohn's disease and fetal imaging.
Our previous research on body DW-MRI for Crohn's disease was funded by the NIH through an R01 research grant and the 2012 Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America research fellow award. Our work was published in high-impact journals and key conferences including several oral presentations at MICCAI and resulted in several patents. In addition, we have strong connections in the industry based on Dr. Freiman's previous experience as a staff research scientist at Philips Healthcare.

The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering/electrical engineering/computer science or engineering/Physics/MRI, have strong programming skills, preferably in Python, and/or C++, and have expertise in machine/deep learning and/or in MRI acquisition and analysis.
