This corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable,
religious, educational, or scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making
of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section
501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and in particular, exclusively for scientific and
educational purposes within the understanding and appreciation for medical image
computing and computer assisted medical intervention including biomedical imaging
and robotics; to stimulate and encourage the exchange, communication and
dissemination of developments in the field through conferences, publications, awards,
educational programs, consulting services, and related scientific activities; to
coordinate and further the programs of the society and its members by functioning as
a service organization and communication network; to cooperate with appropriate
individuals, organizations, and institutions on the local, regional, national and
international levels in projects and activities that will promote and sustain a general
interest in medical image computing and computer assisted intervention; and to accept
donations of money, real property, or other property for the above purposes or any
other charitable and educational purposes allowed within the meaning of current
governing tax code or any successor codes. This corporation may receive and
disburse funds or other property incident to or necessary for the accomplishment of its
purposes and do any and all acts incidental to the transaction of the business of this
corporation or expedient for the attainment of its purposes.
