The MICCAI Educational Initiative
The MICCAI Educational Initiative is a collection of efforts led by the MICCAI Student Board. Our main goal is to provide educational material for researchers in the field of medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions. Our initiative features tutorials about fundamental concepts that are particularly useful for young scientists and newcomers in the field. We also aim to record and disseminate great talks given by MICCAI scientists.
The initiative started with the MICCAI Educational Video Challenge in 2014 and has been expanding ever since. On our website, you can now find links to the current and previous Educational Challenges, video lectures of the Medical Image Summer School (MISS) 2014-2018, and other educational resources.
Our group of volunteering students are very eager to enourage the sharing of scientific knowledge and we will be happy to receive your support and feedback.
MICCAI Educational Challenge
The MICCAI Educational Challenge will be held for the fifth time, leading up to and concluding at MICCAI 2020 in Lima, Peru. The goal of the challenge is to encourage members of the MICCAI community to create and share educational materials, covering fundamental concepts in medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions. The first prize winner of the MICCAI Educational Challenge will receive a prize of $500, sponsored by the MICCAI society. Pending sufficient submissions, a second and third place prize will also be awarded. The winner(s) will be decided by popular vote and announced at MICCAI 2020. Tutorials may be formatted as videos, papers, presentations, IPython Notebooks, GitHub sources and documentation, or blog posts.
